Pepper Monroe - Head Plantsman / Favorite Plant - Hellebore
Howdy! It’s me..Pepper.
Your friendly neighbor and local dirt worshiper.
Magic Hour is one of my favorite things in this world. I’m a lady of the south. Land of Spanish moss and salty watermelon. I come from a line of dirt farmers who relied on their senses and connection to the cycles of seasons for their understanding of nature and how to operate in the gardens and on the land. Totally unconventional and largely self-taught..my understanding of gardening comes from years and years of devotion and microscopic observations of the plants themselves, working along-side wise herb and medicine masters, veggie growers and soil magicians. I’m also proud to be apart of a vibrant and supportive community of plant & flower farmers, designers and growers in the region who all inspire each other with their work and their enthusiastic blooms.
My fave flower is Hellebore for it’s gothic charm and mystical powers. And it is one of the first to emerge after the cold winters. Hellebore is Magic Hour’s mascot and featured on our gorgeous logo design.
