Pepper Monroe
Greetings. It’s Pepper.
Your friendly neighbor and local dirt worshiper.
Magic Hour is one of my favorite things in this world. I’m a lady of the south. Land of Spanish moss and salty watermelon. I come from a line of dirt farmers who relied on their instinct and connection to the cycles of seasons for their understanding of nature and how to operate on the land. So, from a very early age, I looked forward to all that, to the seasons turning and nature taking its course. I was very aware that I was part of the wilder world, that I sprang from the soil, and as long as I followed the natural rhythm of things, I’d be okay.
Totally unconventional and largely self-taught, my understanding of gardening and design comes from years and years of devotion to learning and microscopic observations of the plants themselves, guided by herbal mentors, horticulture masters, vegetable farmers and genius outdoor designers.
I’m also proud to be apart of a vibrant and supportive community of local nurseries & flower farmers, floral creators and growers in the region who all inspire each other with their incredible work and their enthusiastic blooms.
My fave flower is Hellebore for it’s gothic charm and mystical powers. And it is one of the first to eagerly emerge after the cold winters.
