Our Crew

Pepper Monroe - Head Plantsman / Favorite Plant - Hellebore

I hail from dirt farmers of the South, who knew the land by touch, scent, and season. With nearly two decades of hands-on work in Northern and Central California, Costa Rica's lush tropics, and the wild mountain valleys of Upstate New York, I carry this wisdom forward into Magic Hour.

My path has never been conventional. I’m largely self-taught, guided by experience, instinct, and years of microscopic plant observations and devotion to learning from the plants themselves, alongside herbal medicine masters, organic veggie growers, flower farmers, and soil whisperers.

My landscape designs and plant selection is intuitive and intentional, chosen to support pollinators, local ecosystems, and the people who live with them.

I’m also proud to be part of a vibrant, generous community of nurseries, flower farmers and designers in the region—people who inspire and support one another through the seasons. Collaborating with them and drawing from the bounty of locally grown blooms, I also offer seasonal floral design and wild plant installations for events, gatherings, and everyday joy. My work is garden-inspired, untamed, and deeply connected to what’s growing now.
